one of my favorite chicks!

I'm assuming you are making a cadbury play on Cynthia's description of "cream colored" egg. Cause if not, you've totally lost me.

glad to see my darkest of dark humour is not wasted on you! indeed it is a twist on the Cadbury's eggs. they are so nasty, except for the caramel ones.
I was just munching on one when I read it, so it was topical... for me anyway.

These are very nice!  Going to be some good looking chickens, like their parents.  What color are the chicks?  Am I seeing a dusty color there?

It's interesting that the parents are pure white & these 4 chicks are each just a little different. 1 is quite darker than the rest, 2 have a little color & 1 is nearly pure white but not albino. It'll be interesting to see how they turn out!

I just finished getting our outdoor coop ready for our adults this year. They've been wintering in a little store bought coop in the garage, and the "kids" will need to move in there soon, at the rate they're growing !
I wanted to share this, as I learned about coccidiosis the hard way when I lost a young cockerel last spring. The outdoor coop had a dirt floor in the run area, which I thought should be okay, but after a lengthy rain I noticed bloody, mucousy stools & 1 lethargic bird. The others were fine, & I took the bird to the vet the same day, but he died :( Thanks to help from a lot of good folks on BYC, I learned about coccidiosis & that this organism, which attacks the gut, especially in young chickens, lives in soil & gets very proliferative in wet soil. In addition to medicating the rest of the chickens & supplementing with diced garlic, I put a tarp down under the shavings to keep them off the dirt as much as possible. I did some modifications today:
Removed the tarp, raked/emptied the dirt floor, spread barn lime & sand to help with drainage, lined the entire floor with chicken wire anchored to the bases of the walls & put rubber mat squares, like what's used in fitness rooms, & topped it with shavings. Now it will be so much easier to keep clean & dry, and I can remove the floor squares easily to clean them.
Here are some pics - this is a 100yr old

I don't know who exactly makes it but it's usually out in the supermarkets at Easter as a limited edition over here in the UK. As you can see the tubs are not that big so one can be easily eaten in one sitting!!
