Do you know if the hens or a rooster attacked the little boys?
I'm not sure ... these are my Easter HAL chicks so there's a mix of boys and girls. I'm pretty sure these 2 are boys and my other bantam is a girl.

I would spray that wound with blue coat to prevent any picking if you aren't going to keep him isolated. The red will attract picking by flockmates. I would wait until fully healed to try to return that bird to the flock.
In other news, I need to integrate my 19 4 week olds Easter HAL with my 12 5 week old Hatchery chicks today (besides the bantams) into the grow out brooder. Should I put them in in batches or all together?
There are different colors, red kote and blue kote. They are wound dressings that change the color of the wound. Blue Kote is for chickens and covers up the red color--red makes chickens peck and if they draw blood they will sometimes go into a frenzy and kill the injured flock mate. What is "blue coat?" I put neosporin on and theyre already scabbed up pretty good. I will will wait until they're healed to put them back with the others.
What breed(s) did you hatch?i sold 8 of my HAL chicks saturday. i want to say i have 5 left now...i lost 3 within a few weeks of having them. i plan on starting my hens and selling them and keep 2 roos to watch grow.
now i cant wait to hath again! LOL
