The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Only 1 duck egg left, but on day 23 looks good.
Would it hurt to give it to a broody at this point? Trust her more than my current incubator

If the broody is reliable, give the egg to her.

Ok. Only 12 made it in that last batch but 1 has developed BAD pasty butt. Thankfully when I first started chickens 3 years ago I was, and still am, a research hog. If I have a question I read. I took precautions and gently clean most but you never know. I may lose him. I pray not. Oh on a happy note my husband grudgingly gave me the thumbs up to set another batch after I check all gauges and clean it WELL!!!

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day. My sister's gift to me was a box of Reese's peanut butter cups and she offered to take on the morning chicken chores this week so I can sleep in! Love her to bits!

I sure know where you are coming from. I have the same feeling about my horses, dogs and my chickens. I am a lot older than you , myself I am not happy without my critters. Right or wrong that's just how it is. I am sure you could fine someone with the same interest.
I've choose to be with the animals It i a personal choice....
