Ya just woke up 6 pips now my Shepard started barking again lol. No chicks yet but it's gonna be a great hatching day hopefully!!!

YAY I go on lockdown for my last hatch before the easter HAL on Wednesday. I love watching the little ones hatch

I've gone and done it. I may be in trouble. I have been watching some Ebay auctions to get an idea of how much I needed to be able to win one. In particular some Niederheiners. I watched one for 10+ eggs go in two minutes from $54 to $102. Ah, what hope had I? The next one had 17+ eggs with 6 at least Niederheiners plus Isbars and Marans. It also shot up wildly at the last minutes. The next one was by the same farm had another 17+ eggs only with 7 Twenste garanteed, the others were Orust and Niederheiners. It stayed at $49 right up to the last 2 minutes. I twitched. I might never get this chance again on my tight budget. I pounced. They returned and i raised once more at 3 seconds annnd GOT IT! If it was one of yall I was bidding against well I would like to say sorry,,,,, sort of.....maybe.....

But I may have to start them early because they will deliver on the 22nd.  I am beyond thrilled.  

BYC member @Ron Skekel has those breeds. She's NPIP and ships. I'm not sure on her prices for eggs, but I got my svarthona breed stock from her. Her neiderrheiners are TO DIE FOR. Just gorgeous.

That's an pretty awesome buy! I don't think I would have been able to pass that up and I am trying to be really strict with myself about breeds!! Congrats!

Does anyone know of any breeders with Silver Ameruacanas that sell hatching eggs? Or even chicks?

I am also on the look out for quality welsummer hatching eggs. I have decent stock that I am breeding towards SOP and I really just need a new bloodline, or just one good rooster.

Ok. Only 12 made it in that last batch but 1 has developed BAD pasty butt. Thankfully when I first started chickens 3 years ago I was, and still am, a research hog. If I have a question I read. I took precautions and gently clean most but you never know. I may lose him. I pray not. Oh on a happy note my husband grudgingly gave me the thumbs up to set another batch after I check all gauges and clean it WELL!!!

I've found that they get pasty butt when they are chilled, or overheated. Watch their temps.

found another nest some where.  My faverolle hen just started laying.

My faverolles and Welsummer have been laying great, it is the rest of the birds that are torturing me!!
