Hoping this Pemier 1 brooder plate will be WAY cheaper to use than this 250 watt heat lamp. Also ordered a couple stock tank de-icers for my bucket waterers so i can quit with the constant 70 watt bulb i'm using now.

    I see now, sorry :/

I have the Brinsea and it uses way less electricity than the lamp, I'm sure yours will too

My second eco glow is failing now so I will likely be getting another premier1 plate next month. This time the wire broke next to the brooder plate. The wire is too small!

I'm so sorry about your Ecoglow failing, what a hassle!! So far, my first heating plate is working out great and it's a Premier1. Other than all the chicks hiding under it - it's like an empty brooder when I first walk into the room, then as I stand there quietly, they come back out.

I've scheduled a setting for 2/23, so I won't be in on the special day, but I'm still interested in following the thread. I just ordered 2 Primier 1 heat plates after reading the convo here, my current hatch of 96 is due to go into the brooder sometime after the 27th.

Chicken math at work! Glad to enable you at any time. Did you find what you were looking for on the middle TN thread?
