Oh no! I know it's not funny...(ok...it's a just a little bit funny) Frustrating for sure!! But I think that's just wild your feed stores get chicks in just have chicks there. Loose. Waiting for people to buy them. I've never seen anything like that here. At all. Closest thing to that was when our local co-op used to get a group of chicks in for their big specials week in March. But you couldn't buy them...it was a raffle. Yep...no chicks here at all.

Silver laced Wyndottee ? How do you know when they are chicks?? I bought 2 golden laced wyns but 1 was a very dusty brown color. All the others were dark brown/black colored with the wine red dusting on heads but this baby was totally different.

@TJordan I could be wrong and I hope I don't upset you but I believe that chick may actually be an Easter egger. It seems to me to have a beard and muffs and it's almost identical to one of the EE we raised last year. Hope this helps

Yeah there have been some Choclolate Cuckoo Orps going for good prices too.

Wow how much were the chocolate cuckoo orps going for? Jw as I got some chocolate and chocolate cuckoo chicks from junibutt. It would be wonderful to start a breeding program with them.

Ok, had to look up silver laced Orpintons. They look like silver laced Wyondotte to me.. I know, there will be some that go..NOT! But, then I saw this one!

@Sally Sunshine I have quite a few breeds I will be hatching. I'll list them all by Friday. My neighbors dogs killed most of my birds today

Its been a tough day for me. All the babies I've been hatching over the last 3 to 4 months are gone. They are going to pay for replacement eggs but they don't quite understand everything I went through to attain those babies. I have to start over now. I will run 2 incubators for the EHAL.
