The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Checked my incubator, eggs on day 20 and I have 2 pips whoohoo. Went to the coop tp put the girls to bed and hear chirping. Took a look under my broody and she hatched 1 and has several pips and zips happening!!! Going to be a darn good night!!!

112!!!!! Yikes. How much land do you have?! Are they dual purpose birds? Do you have a chicken processing farm???


I have 1.9 acres, but not much flat land.

My plan is to pick out 40 or so to raise up. There is an auction planned the following Saturday where I will sell the majority. I don't expect all to be fertile, which us why I set so many.

Yes, they're considered dual purpose. Naked Necks aka Turkens.
No processing place other than a killing cone, a knife and my hands are the processing tools I have.

I was forced to set my eggs last night, do they still count for HAL or not? I won't be too disappointed if they don't, because I just want the chicks!

Yep, tracking down people is hard work. So let them know..if ... you...are...not...hatching...after ... all.

Okay,

Set late yesterday afternoon.

Number set: 112.
All from my own flick. Used 5 roosters and 17 hens.
Holy moly, that's a lot of eggs.
