Looks like 6 of my khaki Campbell duck eggs are developing. Hurray! (More than 6/16 intact, fertile eggs would have been good but they were shipped in winter)
I'm glad that you have some developing.

I will be trying to hatch 4 each of Barred Rock, Australorp, and Black copper maran. (Trying)
Trying and accomplishing!!

(And if not accomplishing...learning valuable knowledge in the meantime)

All 11 of my eggs that the Broodies had have hatched. 2 more days until the incubator is due to start hatching.

How sweet! Nice pic!

Good morning went to bed at midnight got up at 2 am went back at 3am got up at 340 and stayed up. Could not sleep, so I decided to work on my adult coloring book. I got two pages drawn so not a total loss. Here is what I did while most of the world in my neck of the woods was sleeping.

What do you all do when the sandman goes on strike?

Those are VERY nice!

Unfortunately, the sandman is never on strike at my house anymore. I fall asleep in vehicles, in my chair, the bathtub (ok, nobody laugh) and once in a while...I'll fall asleep while still standing up. I even fell asleep once TALKING with my brother...in person. I'm lucky if I can stay awake when I need to.

(I blame it on getting older...lol.)

This's really helpful Local.

I'm a very patient person...just not with incubating. "Trying" to be more "Zen" with my hatches. It helps to see what you've posted above.

Still way behind...but I have to go help vaccinate cattle.

:hugs  I would gently wipe the goo off the good egg with a very warm towel. If you have any Oxine, I would gently wipe the area with some on a q-tip or paper towel. Then smell the eggs that are left, including the one you cleaned, to make sure there are no more and hope for the best. :fl  Good luck! These aren't Isbars, are they?
nope, duck eggs

I'm in...going to be setting some B/B/S Ameracuana eggs.

welcome!!!!

When I write a post, it used to just insert the photo or smiley where I had the cursor like XXX <----here.

If I put my cursor here --> X and now insert a smiley wanting it to go there, it ends up up there ---^ (smack), along with any photograph I post. The only way for me to drag them down is to highlight them and move them into position. Really hard to do when photos are big. It didn't used to do that when I was on BYC before. I've been away for a while, just thought maybe something had changed and there was a really simple button in options or something.

I take it, it's just me?
ohhh I had to switch from chrome to firefox to get byc to work, lol never ending errors

Hatching Participant List is Current to Post 1983.

thank you!!!

Uhoh.. Something is rotten in the state of Arizona

Had an egg-splosion this morning. Apparently I have only 5 eggs developing. Do I leave the others be? One has a bit of goo from the cracked egg
get the gooper out, did it get on the other eggs?

I'm still WAY behind reading posts (I got lost again in the 180s) ...but I'm sure I'll "eventually" catch up.

I'm patiently (ok...impatiently) waiting to see IF I'm gonna get anything hatching. So far...no pips. I forgot to raise the humidity until Friday evening.
he.gif
Well, I was supposed to be away Thursday...and I thought I'd do it Thursday night (and I forgot)....then I was supposed to be away Friday and, well, you get the picture.
I hiked up the humidity WAY up yesterday and again this morning to compensate. So I'll see if I saved the day...or will fail miserably.

And I really wanted to see if chicks were going to hatch from the rolling cell eggs.

I candled all 24 of my eggs last night after noticing an early quitter that I couldn't find again.
I have 21 wigglers (some are doing the Macarena!) two clears and the early quitter that looks like it was dead at about three days. Nothing really to even see.
This is my best hatch (so far!
fl.gif
) that I have had in six or so hatches!
The problem is that I only expected a few to hatch. Now what am I supposed to do with almost fifty new chicks within a month? I mean, there will be 21 from this hatch, plus the hatch along. Then I have five girls that will probably go broody at any time (their sisters have already hatched out a clutch each over the winter!).

I need to get this math under control.
lau.gif
I have almost 350 eggs in bator and a bunch outside looking forward to when chick fever hits and I can start selling some b4 they take over everwhere I have not gotten ahead of the math at all

Love the coloring books. Kudos to your restraint, if I drew those I don't know that I could stop myself from shading/coloring in. LOL :)

Have been researching quail again this afternoon. I am planning to start with coturnix this year, with hopes of stocking the freezer as well as having some fun playing with genetics (which I can't help but do with anything I raise, I fear). I raised up some bobwhites last year outside in a rabbit hutch and they were adorable. Switching to coturnix for size and speed of maturity. Looking forward to raising me up some popcorn chicks. Anyone else doing quail?
I've toyed with the idea of quail before but I have never eaten one so if I raised them and didn't like their taste I also do not know where I could sell them.

I think I'll run a test on the incubator with a few eggs before the HAL

.. Will get them out of the Attic tonight and set some eggs from my Red and black star hens who are with a Black Australop rooster.
