I was loving these photos..I had a hen in my very first flock that had similar coloring..I loved her! Love the coloring. She laid a pretty blue egg, with just a hint of green in it.

I'm starting to save up eggs for next week's set date. I'm saving every blue egg for ameraucanas and blue egg laying mixes, every super dark egg for olive eggers, and every rhodebar egg for sex links lol. I may be setting a lot more than I expected to

What will you do if they all hatch?

Sadly unless I will those eggs in the give away I won't have fertile eggs

I might try to offer to hatch some for a friend. That way I'll still have a hatch

Who knows. Maybe this storm about to slam my area will cull out some of the roosters and save me the time

bad me.

That way my husband will say I can do more.

Keep any that are special (like any lavenders ameraucanas if I get any) then pennswoods.net, craigslist, and tractor supply swaps come in handy lol.

Ill be putting my goose eggs in today. I don't expect them to hatch as I can never seem to hatch them. But will also be putting chicken eggs in march 5th. The eggs ill be putting in are my winning eggs that I won from the best hatch rate from the new years day hatch a long.

Looks fun!! Don't think I'll be able to hatch though as we just got chickens in October so they're only 17 weeks old and my parents don't really want more.

But maybe next year I can convince them or get ducks and join...

Not even a couple more? If there is a near-by farmer with a rooster you may be able to just get three or so eggs to try and hatch.

It takes me a while to catch up also. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had a full time job though (which I know many people here do).

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you want some eggs shipped to you? I'm willing to ship you a dozen or so for free if you want a barnyard mix to hatch. After all, I can't set that many myself, so might as well add as many of my eggs to the hatch-a-long as I can. LOL.
