One of the quickest ways to break a broody is to move them to a different nest box. They become fixated on that nest box and really freak out if you move them from it.

If you have a cage with a wire bottom, that will almost alway break them. I did this a bunch last year. I had a blue australorp that went broody 5 times last year!Think I am going to do this with my silkie. I was going to give her some babies that just hatched, but changed my mind. It's just too mucky out there, and I really don't have a place for her and chicks right now..I have some others in the regular broody area...growing up.![]()
