Today is my birthday and I fully intend on buying myself chicken related

I decided not to set my two turkey eggs for the hatchalong, and wait until I can set more. Luckily, I am getting tons of chicken eggs so I still will have lots to let by next weekend.

Count me in! Last night I set 12 Ancona duck eggs. Not great fertility with my flock on winter rations, but hopefully I'll have at least a couple cuties hatch out.

Count me in for my first ever hatch-a-long and first ever hatch! I'll be hatching some of my Cream Legbars. Can't wait!!

@Sally Sunshine Can you post all of those sites again..of eggs for sale. It's your fault I have 13 little swimmers going on in my bator because of all of those you posted.

Did anyone set Duck eggs today? I didnt see anyone mention it today. I guess ducks are not a big deal around here?
I set my 5 Pekin Eggs today at noon.

I believe @Chaos18 set duck eggs.

how many grams does it weigh?

Ron, I didn't weigh it. Is there a certain weight that's acceptable to set? This one was pretty little, I was just scared if i set it that the chick wouldn't have room etc. I'm going to keep a close eye on her and maybe set some in a few weeks if they look ok.

If you start bidding at the beginning of an auction, put in a bid close to your max bid. That way, as others bid it up in small increments, they are continually outbid and may get discouraged and decide to wait for the next auction. If they do reach your bid, don't bid again until very end to fake out the other bidder(s) that you are no longer interested and they can relax. Then very close to the end, put in your absolute max bid.

If you continually bid up in small amounts, it always looks like you are close to your max amount and may give in at any time, so your competition will be thinking "just a little bit more and I can get him to give up." With both of you thinking that way, the price can go much higher.

I had eggs shipped to me. She was supposed to send them Monday so they'd arrive for the HAL. Surprise! They arrived yesterday! I'm early on the HAL cycle, but I just set them. I didn't want to wait on shipped eggs. So, my official Easter HAL set Day 1 has begun. 18 Cream Brabanter. I'm turning by hand right now- in cartons. The air cells are all a little wonky. I'll candle at Day 4 or 5 to decide which ones make it to the next round, haha. Then I'll get them into the auto (microwave) turner. My current record for Brabanter eggs is 1/12. I'll be happy with more than 2. H***, if I could get to a 25% hatch record I'd dance a jig and send video. That would require 7 of these 18 to hatch.
