Now I'm really worried lol. I just spent over $90 on eggs and they should arrive today... but it was about 15 degrees last night so I'm hoping they didn't freeze or get smashed.
Oh my gosh that video!!! Me too, I've sent out eggs and watching that made me

Last year someone posted this one, which was also horrible to watch. my father worked for the USPS and can confirm this is pretty accurate.

Not sure what you mean about seal? I just made a wire cave, put the heating pad on top. Then I covered it with a towel that drapes down around the sides and back, with a flap in the front. I did not cover the towel with the press and seal, as I have several that I just change out when they get gross and wash them. The pad on the bottom is just covered with a hand size towel.
Yes that's what I meant lol. Sry. My concern is with humidity etc I think what we'll do is get a waterproof pet heat pad that maintains the temp and do the same thing. We're going to get some heavy duty plastic as well to cover the chick coop in case of inclement weather. I'll have to update once we get it set up and you can tell me what you think. Here's a pic of my chick "run" it's just a closed area we made inside the 20x24 run for the babies.

it's directly attatched the the coop. Should be plenty of room for the babies to run around.

Really really ticked off today!!! I asked my youngest son (17) to go out and open up my brooder coop so my broody that is on day 19 can get out to stretch her legs if she wants. Well he decided he should try and candle one of the eggs, and dropped it!! A 6 foot fall a broken egg and a beautiful barred rock chick ruined!!! That kid will be shoveling sh-t all spring now. Took me 3 tries to get this incubation stuff right and this ugggggg.

Building another incubator, and if I can get it up & running, I'll be joining the Easter Hatch-A-Long. I'm using @Sally Sunshine 's design for the cabinet cooler bator. But going to attempt making an auto turner - found some ideas on YouTube; no instructions, foreign language, but it's worth a try!

If you homemade turner doesn't work the R-Com cabinet auto turner fits the coolers.
