Well I've got the first spring order for eggs. 2 dozen fresh eggs needed today for a lady at school and she wants CHICKS!!!! Offers to buy some when she gets a safe area set up. I told her about the Easter hatch and she started jumping around excited and says she wants some when they hatch for her grandkids Easter gifts.

Candled the chicken eggs tonight. The blues and the OE are a mystery. It looks like I have 2 Orust and 1 Twenste that has a good chance. The 4 Neiderrheiners are clear. Several of the others have this weird banded appearance. Air cell, Dark band, clear band with some hints of veining. Does anyone know what that is and what I might expect?

and Im scared of his mom lol!! I have 23 more eggs set to hatch azny time, so loosing one is ok. I keep telling myself it was probably another rooster!

Yes, it was likely a rooster!

You should hatch out plenty of pullets with 23 eggs still going.

I got very lucky with my eggs. Not one broken. But they were shipped from NC and I live in NC so that was a plus. Hope everything works out for y'all .

Well. My cat almost had baby chick surprise for lunch. The door leading to my brooder set up was ajar and I watched her slip inside. I caught her but spent an hour adding a top to my babies brooder.

. A few boards, screws, wire and an old baby gate and I'm set. Just got to get to the store for some hardware cloth to replace that wire crap.

Got my Wyandotte eggs today Unplanned day off with sick kiddo worked out well, they would have sat on the porch in 20* until I got home.
And special thanks to @PhoredaBurds for getting my @KYTinpusher Isbar eggs delivered to her so they wouldn't set out in this weather. Going to pick those up along with some Appenzeller Spitzhauben eggs on Saturday!
