I set my eggs early bc I didn't want to wait past a week. Not sure if I ever gave my official numbers/dates.

7- backyard specials lol Set to hatch on St. Patrick's day
18- Lavender Ameraucana's set on March 1st.

Pales in comparison to the troopers on here! Lol but hoping for a good hatch to get everything going.

@draye 112!!! I have that kind of room in by incubator but not a separate hatcher, I am already doing staggered hatches in my Sportsman. I have plenty of land to raise them, 5 acres.... But I may end up with a divorce if I tried to hatch that many... My DH would need to build another pen right away..

I will have a final count tomorrow of what I am going to set. I am trying to get some last minute eggs from a friend.

I have 1.9 acres, but not much flat land.

My plan is to pick out 40 or so to raise up. There is an auction planned the following Saturday where I will sell the majority. I don't expect all to be fertile, which us why I set so many.

No processing place other than a killing cone, a knife and my hands are the processing tools I have.

Nice. I am planning on about 30-40 hens this year and I'm processing out my adult roosters so I can refresh bloodlines next spring. Any extra hens I have like you I will sell. Already have a lady interested in some.

I only have one actual hatching tray. I usually don't have staged hatches, so I turn off the turner and have an extra ( divided ) box I set in a egg shelf and then for the eggs that doesn't have as many eggs hatching I use the clear trays that strawberries come in, the 2 and 3 quart sizes. Works great. I used colored secure ties to mark breeding pens.
