Are you referring to the silver thing? If so..that is the motor..and, you should move that egg..it gets pretty warm. Most people don't put eggs by it. In fact, they leave two spaces..at least I do.

I see it isn't yours Chat...so, whoever this belongs to..may want to move eggs.

Do you have an iPhone or iPod with a flashlight? That's what I like using since it's pretty bright.

I would Love to join this Years Hatch-a-long! I what I could get out of my old retiring girls, I have a mixed group under the only surviving purebred Mottled Java Roo. This should be interesting.

Well daylight is getting longer and the girls don't want to go up as early. I get up a 5:00am and by 5pm I'm ready to eat and sleep. So I'll just have to keep shaking the meal worm bag till I change my sleeping schedule. I have a lot to do this spring so probably gonna be working on the farm till dusk. I have to build another coop and run for my Orust chicks I'll have hatching soon. I usually let most of my flock free range all day. But I have to keep this rare breed comfortable but away from other roosters so I don't get mixes. Plus in July I have 4 blue Ameraucana coming along with 4 lavender and 4 blur orpingtons. So I have to figure out a way to house them I want to keep them pure also. Luckily you can find free lumber on Craigslist. And I have the space and tools I need to build for ever. Oh it's gonna be a wonderful spring!!

Here's an interesting photo..someone had a hen die, opened it up, and saved these and put them down in order to take the photo.

This should be in the Natural eggs contest. It is so amazing.

Hummm I wonder if I should give updates like Razadia. This way if I disappear in the middle of it my chicken crazed friends can alert the cops of Fowl

Oh pray for my little boy. He spiked a fever of 101 last night and spent most of the night crying that his ear hurt. I've got dr appointment in 45 mins. I hope it's not another ear infection. They said many more and we will be looking at tubes.

On a different ,chick related note, I had to tend a few cases of pasty butt last night and my older chicks took a trip outside for a min this morning. They huddled in a corner of the area I set up in the coop so I brought them back in. It started raining and my power cord has a break. Safety first.

My power went out and my temps are dropping fast

My incubator doesn't fit through the door. Should I pack the eggs up into cartons and put them on my heated seats ?
