I gave in and candled. I have one clear and one with a bloodring. This leaves 10 eggs, BUT GUESS WHAT? The brinsea ecoglo bars that hold the egg in the turners suck. I guess they were put too tight against the eggs and it cracked one, leaving an inditation and a hairline crack. I candled and freaked out when i saw it was alive. I painted elmers glue over it all and covered it with thin paper towel and glued back over that. Cross your fingers for this little baby!

I have used scotch tape on cracks and it works just fine, just an FYI and you will have to help that baby out when the time comes. glad it's alive. keep us posted

So I pulled half of the chicken eggs that I had in the bator to eggtopsy. Most had died at just an inch long. One though had gotten big enough to have feathers. It was one of the Orust eggs. I think I lost it when the bulb blew. So I was later floating the remaining silver quail eggs since they are too dark to candle. About a third showed no movement and the other two thirds began to rotate after coming to a full stop so I left them in.

I was closing up for the night when my toe caught the lamp cord and pulled the lamp to the floor.

This was bad because it was a glass oil lamp that had been rigged for electricity. Didn't break the bulb though. I have been using it with a cup shade with a hole cut in the bottom to candle with until my new Cree flashlight gets here. So I reached down and picked up the light completely annoyed with myself and must have set it back down on the table to hard because the broken edge sliced my left ring fingertip open.

Bled like a stuck pig.

it happened again. 6 MORE chicks added to my growing store bought numbers.

and this man I married want me to go back tomorrow to look at the next arrivals. Help. I think I've created a MONSTER!!!!

All of my eggs are in the 'bator.

I got my Seramas and set them the 7th!

USPS is such a pain... we had to go to the post office after the arrival estimation kept getting pushed to a later and later date. At first they were like "they'll come, they are just out for delivery" but after we asked them a couple times to check in the back, and check again, they came out with a box of 7 unbroken serama eggs! I'm so glad we didn't go when they said that they were out for delivery.

Also i have a question for you all... when is the earliest viable eggs can wiggle? because I turned them this morning and after i closed up the incubator i heard "clink, tap, tap, clink," and it went on for about 3-5 minutes while i was looking at the incubation calendar... the seramas are sorta separate so they would have to wiggle a ton to tap their neighbor... but the eggs from the TJ are all close to each other and are on day 4... it seems too young but i swear there was tapping!!!

It's really driving me nuts!

good morning to you too. Love salmon faveroles I have just 2 hens and a rooster . Due too my very foxy fox. As much as I hate that fox I have to admit he or she is very smart....Just wanted to say those babies are so adorable.
My rooster was so sick I thought I was going to lose him but he is back. Maybe my eggs will be fertile by spring. I gave he some more hens all lay different colored eggs. He seems much happier. LOL

So I actually have 26 eggs. Whoops! Pops brought 3 more over the day after I set and i miscounted the original amount. So they were still in the open window of time. I did find two eggs with hairline cracks, but I'm gonna try and hatch then anyway. haha

Let them rest for at least 24 hrs fat end up and hope that they reattach.
