Late to the Hatching party... just remembered it! Set 18 eggs this past Sunday. Is there something I am supposed to do other than say "I'm in"? My friend is going to shoot me kindly! That's too many for our set up! LOL. But they are so much fun to have!
Welcome to the HAL!

My incubator is driving me nuts. Can't get the egg turner to work. Pulled all the eggs out again to try to get it working. Candled them in the process. Really good visible development on half, other half not as much. One blood ring to toss. Fan motor seized up again, blew out the dust and got it going again. Made sure I switched the eggs around so they aren't all ending up in the same hot/cool spots. Now the two thermometers I have running in are 5 degrees different.
Going to stop at TSC tomorrow to pick up another incubator. If I can't find one there, Amazon Prime will bring me one.
Edit to add: it is a Little Giant incubator, got it for free 2 years ago. Bought the egg Turner last Christmas. Hasn't been too bad for me, but this is the first year fully loaded and with lots of purchased eggs.

If the turner isn't working could you try tilting it by hand? I'm not sure how turners work because I have never used one, but that might be easier then trying to turn them all by hand.

Broodies staying strong. May even have a third in my favorite silkie Ginger, too bad she couldn't get with the program several days ago lol. Then again I wouldn't have been able to give her Minnie's eggs then. Haven't given them yet, they're in the house in a carton turning. No development in any of Minnie's eggs that I candled. Brought six in this afternoon which makes me think maybe the eggs are also from my self blue oegb pullet, Crocket. One of the eggs got tossed as its aircell was totally blown and huge my guess is that ones been out there for a while and may have partially frozen. Crocket isn't as good of quality her comb is a little wonky but she's beautiful all the same. Need to look back further BC I think I said Minnie only had four unbroken eggs until she layed one and as I said there was six out there this evening.

ETA just looked back and indeed she did only have five so someone else is adding to the nest and I'm guessing Crocket.

Will have to try and see who's eggs are who's. I opened the egg that was cracked under Minnie and sure enough it was fertile.

Not sure who the father is but I'm guessing Mickey although we do have two oegb cockerals the girls don't care for Nugget as much and he prefers to try and woo the lf ladies lol

Congrats on the broodies! We had a silkie hen named Ginger too.

Most of us have the opposite problem-

(My) DH thinks (I've) we've lost our (my) mind.

I think he needs to get to work on another pen. Sounds like your DH is on a buying spree worthy of any of us chicken addicts though!

So happy for you Banti!
Fired my broody hen this morning. I had 8 eggs on day 18 that she was sitting on. Something spooked her. When I looked in this morning, she was sitting on nothing right next to 7 intact eggs and one dead baby that had been pecked out of it's shell. 3 more of the eggs were dead when I float-tested them but 4 were still moving around. I hurriedly put them into my incubator and added water to up the humidity. Hopefully, those 4 will pull through. Loco chicken is now in a rabbit hutch in the backyard to break her broodiness. (my consolation is that, although I spent $40 so that I could have a broody hen to hatch those 8 eggs, I got 23 fertile bantam eggs with the chicken and most of them look like they are developing; if even 1/2 hatch it'll be worth the $40)
Oh no sorry! Good luck with the bantam eggs.
