The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

Maybe hatch a bunch then breed the girls all back to their dad for good blue
That's a good idea. Thanks

She is average, comes back in When I call them. Not super flighty, but not cuddly. One of my favorites is an EE from MPC

Thanks! They seem like pretty cool birds :) my EEs are very curious about me but pretty flighty. I hope they calm down
I wouldn't do that. I would offer them for $5 a pullet $3.50 strait run like I offered my friends. I produce good birds they will come back

and send friends.

This is will be my first swap too. There is already a huge list of people going.

:hugs Thanks Krista. I don't know if I can convince Blu to take another trip.   I'll have to try, though. I still have a few birds left from that hatch and they're some awesome girls.

Just let us know. We have some cool stuff hatching this weekend.
Are those our silkies that you are talking about? A predator got all of our silkie breeders. I am still mourning.

Some of you are bad influences, so I candled my HAL eggs a day early. 41 eggs, 6 clear, 2 blood rings, that leaves me with 33 developing. Plus the 11 in my other incubator that are three days farther along. Good grief, how am I going to brood 40+ chicks? My biggest brood prior to this was 7. Am I officially a chicken addict now?

I just was monitoring air cells since this is my first try with bantams and I wanted to get humidity right! Honest!!! :gig

I did my 7 day candle today. At last 14 out of 33 are developing well. Can't see into the 4 BBS Copper Marans. So hopefully more. I think it is a good start. I have least 2 to 3 of each variety going strong. Except for the barred rocks, oh well. I will candle in a few days.

Quote: I got these from someone that was moving. A trio of greys. The only one that hatched that I got from y'all was killed by another chick. The one I lost was a Houdan/Silkie, I think. I still don't get why he killed her. I think Bama said the aggressive one's dad was aggressive too, but the flood got him. That chick killed another pullet I had the same brooder before that, but Ugly Chicken was the last straw. The 2 I have left are RIRs. Not really friendly, but they love me when I have treats.

The Christmas flood drowned all but 7 of our chickens.
