The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

I haven't been on here in awhile but I got the email about the Easter hatch and have to come join! I will be hatching chickens, quail, and possibly ducks.
We are having a lengthy warm spell so I'm off to start setting up the breeding pens!
Might have to join in on a swap or two.

I got the brooders room set up for all future generations of Chicks! Lots of improvements to do still though. I need to get the incubator down there and also move lots of stuff out

It is a Rite Farm Model 1200 pro digital incubator I am pretty sure. I can set the temp and humidity but there seems to be three sets of settings F-1 F-2 F-3 I think. The temp is in centigrade but that was easy to decipher online. I'm just not sure what the other settings are for. We have tried twice to save eggs that were left by a broody hen once the first chick hatched but they didn't hatch. It has an automatic turner which is nice. I just need instructions as to how to set it.

Didn't a manual/instructions come with this? Or did you get it used?

I got into incubating because my very first broody girl..flew the coop literally when the chicks started to pip and peep! She would not go back. Good thing I took the advice of having a bator on hand just in case this very thing happened. I loved it when those babies popped out of those shells! lol...now..years later..oh dear.

Well, I believe I was in the first Easter hatch. Maybe. So I think I will join this year for old times sake.should have some Buckeyes and some white leghorns to hatch, and who knows what else.

I've been looking at those Buckeyes..do they lay well? Good in any climate? I love the leghorn. Always have to have the leghorn!
