Is there a St Paddy's day hal? If there is, I can't find it.
So what do you all do with your extra chicks? Sell them? Give them away? I love to hatch chicks, but I don't need any more.
Help! I think I might need intervention!
Quote: Thank you. I plan to spend the first half of tomorrow cleaning them, because I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow. As long as it doesn't rain I'll have plenty of time to let them air out.
In other news, I done done it. I've already ordered eggs for the week of the set date. I forgot what I ordered as soon as I placed... kind of a no duh because it's an assortment and I have zero clue what I'll be getting.
Not that i know of , but I am doing a breed~and~hatch (along) with my hatch date on St. Patrick's day.
Try here, not called St. Patricks..but it's in March.

Hi Razadia!I'd x3 on the advice above. I think bleach is the go-to for cleaning after mice. Just make sure to wet everything so no dust is stirred up. The first thing the guys here want to do is sweep or vacuum.
And even so, the dust has to be continually re-infected by mice to make it dangerous. Here's a link that explains a bit more. It's not the link I was looking for, but it may be more appropriate because it's from the US.![]()

I looked on my Virkon efficacy chart and I while I don't see Hantavirus listed, I also hit anything that has been "moused" with Virkon as a final step because it doesn't have a scent. It's also what I use every so often on my incubator because it does kill so many types of viruses, bacteria and fungi and it has no scent to give me a headache afterwards. The Hibitane I use is getting old. I tend to overdo things.Virkon is crazy expensive though.
It does have wonderful detergents properties for cleaning so you can skip the soap.![]()
Oh yes, gloves! Latex, vinyl...I'd probably go with Nitrile gloves if you have them. And a long handled veg brush. That way your hands are protected and it doesn't seem so gross.![]()
Disposable gloves are my go-to when handling the ickies.I couldn't handle half the nasty stuff I do without them. We get the odd mouse too every so often.![]()

Oh yuck![]()
I'd use a diluted bleach on them. Rinse well, repeat and rinse well again. Then try and get them in the sun to dry out if you can.
X's 2! I use this method after each hatch anyway..half bleach..half water .. solution. Doesn't take much bleach to kill those germs. I bet the bators will be fine if you do this.
