The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

I just set some Blue Partridge Brahma, Jubilee Orphington and an EE from my sister's flock last night, they are my first shipped eggs to incubate. Hoping for some to hatch but most look like they have clear speckles on the shells and no air sacs so I'm worried they may have frozen in the mail between Florida and Colorado. This round will finish before the hatchalong, and I happen to have silkie eggs coming in from AZ on March 20th, so I will be joining this event with my 12 silkie eggs. It will be so fun to see what everyone hatches.

Your most welcome and let's hope they get a wriggle on very soon :fl
Yeah, a Brinsea cabinet for me :drool

I'd love a cabinet bator, although I could probably use the entire space of my hatch room as an incubator. I currently rub the room at 30c whilst incubating because it's almost more stable than my incubator. The problem is I have trouble dealing with the 50 at a time I get now, because I live in a house in town, not a farm.

Just did my first candling. I have a bunch of blood vessels and there's a little baby moving around in there. This is day 7. I'm super excited to see the little ones when they come.

Are you ..sure..sure that it is day 22?

Man, I would be in big big trouble if I got a cabinet!

Think I would be too but you only live once ;)

Plan to set quail and chicken eggs if I can find parts for one of my incubators

Hi :welcome & the Easter Hatch a Long!
Hope you are able to find the parts :fl

Hi :welcome & the Easter Hatch a Long!
The clear speckles would indicate they are porous shelled eggs so you may find they lose moisture quickly and you may have to keep your humidity a tad higher so the air cells don't grow too big or too quickly. As for seeing no air cell I would say you have very fresh eggs there and that they have not had to time to evaporate much moisture away. How long did they take to arrive with you from your sisters?
