The adventure begins!!!!

So havent posted in a while. Been enjoying my girls, they are happy and healthy. Have been waiting expectantly for eggs. Figured we had the timing down to the week we were on vacation. Sure enough one laid the night before we left for our trip! We think it has only been Katniss laying. She sure is irregular. One in the am, one late pm, just really random. Guess she will get on a more regular schedule. We have some store bought eggs to finish up and cant wait to eat my first eggs from my girls! How long will they keep in the fridge? They have not been washed. So excited, I feel like my lil chickies are all grown up!

If you have washed the egg then you must refrigerate them. Un washed they can stay out in the kitchen. They will keep for weeks either way. There is a sight on here that will tell you how to tell if an egg is still good by floating it in a bowl of water but I can't remember weather a fresh egg floats or sinks - sorry.

Thanks, they have not been washed. I think I read somewhere that bad eggs float but will double check.
