...or bill.

My duck reference is Holderread's "Storey's Guide" on ducks. His opinion on twisted bills is they are not inherited but rather they are caused by trauma to the bill that caused it to twist as the duckling grew.

Is there any other information on twisted bills in the literature?

So it's my understanding, that duck bills are similar to our fingernails and equine hoofs. If there was trauma to the nail bed, the nail grows out misshapen or with irregularities. Might be the same w your ducky's bill.
Here is a website I found that has some info that could help.

To me... that would be just an opinion. I would NOT choose to breed him... without further scientific evidence that it is not hereditary....

UNLESS you saw a noticeable trauma when he was growing, just not worth the risk to me.

But, your drake is still a cutie, what's his name? :pop
