The adventures of Barbara (BR)

So glad that Charlie is okay now! That growth sounds painful!

I admire you for really looking and trying (and succeeding) in helping with the eye problem. So many people would do otherwise. All chickens should have such delightful, talented, and capable managers as you and Mr. Chickendad. Bravo from a fellow animal enthusiast.

MAybe a lot of guys wish for a girlfriend as a reward for good behavior at the Doctor's office. Sure beats the stickers my kids get!

Ahhhh . . . you think you wanna go there???? I'll bet they're better off with stickers!!!

Thanks everyone for your concern about Charlie. He's such a sweet boy, I hope he doesn't have any residual damage. That is the second time I've had a chicken with an infection that solidified. I had a young cockerel who got in a fight (hard to believe, I know . . .) and got a big hard lump in his wattle. Me and my trusty Xacto knife made a tiny slit in it and it was the same cheesy stuff. So this was actually Chicken Surgery #2. Guess I'm going to have to read up on this.

I'm glad Charlie is OK.
I had to take a Call duck to the vet last week for this same thing-she's doing very well since she had her abscess type thing removed.
Your Cochins are beautiful.
