Mrs. Chickendad - is Bobby an Amercauna also? He looks like my EE Larry (the one Hunner beat up and proved himself to be a ladies man). Pretty boys, one and all!

I love the name Larry for a rooster. It is just so. . so. . unroosterlike! Leroy actually had a spittin' image twin brother named Larry. (I really shouldn't name the ones I sell). It takes so long for them to tell you their name! My little cochin boy that flirts with me has been christened "Kenny". I am waiting for one to tell me his name is Carl, another unroosterlike name and too good/bad to waste!

my silly barbara and her buddy dot the NHred decided to be awol in the middle of a day long drizzle day- so i spent the day keeping an eye on them- well, when i finally got hold of barbara, even though she looked soaked- her underfeathers were dry- yes they are a funny breed- very determined and independant- will she lay the eggs in one of the 7 nestboxes... you've gotta be kidding~ she goes into hubby's workshop and find an empty box... and darned if the others are taking notes! She must be talking secretly to Barbara of the Chickendad family.....

Dear Mrs.Chickendad - I love your thoughts on chickens telling us their names. You are so right. Most often, they just grow into their names (like our children). Larry and Maureen are the two left from a trio that my DH named Larry, Curly and Mo. We had a Carleigh (named by the twin down the street after herself) and so Curly became Sally, but she didn't make it past puberty.

I'm still on a learning curve, much to my dismay and the chicken's destiny. Larry is very handsome and will live to a ripe old age since all our kids are pets, after all.
