Yep, calcium...you should be able to get crushed oyster shell or similar in an animal feed shop or a shop that is for birds. Hope she picks up.

So here are my two Chinese crosses that we got in May. Everyone here thought the brown one was a boy, and so did our vet! (He had never sexed a goose, though, and was pretty unsure about whether it was a boy or girl, but he ended up voting boy). After reading Holderread's goose book I'm almost entirely sure she's a girl. The white one always stands in front of her, her voice is much lower-pitched and generally she is more quiet (except when our ducks are mating and she goes ballistic). She is much smaller than the gander and also has a lot of hanging flesh below her belly. So do we agree that my little Sopheap is a girl?

In other news, the white one hisses at me and goes to attack me every day. He does not do this to my boyfriend nor to our neighbor that comes over a few times a week. I don't know what he has against me! He always goes in for an attack and then draws away, his head practically vibrating from the stress of wanting to show dominance over me. What was interesting is that when my boyfriend left for a week, the gander stopped attacking me and tried to mate with my feet, twice.

They´re beautiful. Just stand your ground with the gander, and yes, the brown does look like a female, too. Great!

It´s normally so hard to tell when they´re young!

Thanks! I spend time with them every day. I suspect footwear does have something to do with it, I wear flip flops every day and have different colored pedicures, which probably drives him berserk. What's funny, though, is when my boyfriend is out of town the gander starts being sweet to me. I think he's just jealous.
