The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Pics
Question for the experts.
This is our first time raising geese. We hatched 3, and purchased the rest from Ideal.
One of the goslings purchased from Ideal is darker...more yellow, and has a different color beak.
Is this just a normal variation in Africans, or is it a different breed?

I need a few toys for them to play with....any suggestions?

UPDATE: My geese also played with a water bottle. Because their pool is in the sun during the morning, I filled a water bottle with ice & froze it, with the intention of putting it in the little pool to cool it down some. I put it in their pool when they were watching (because if they dont see it going in & find it on their own, they'll freak out). There was an air pocket in the bottle which allowed it to float, and when my geese got in the pool they had some fun trying to bite it and sink it. YAY for cheap entertainment!!

Oh! and where did you get your pool? And how much did it cost, if you dont mind me asking?

The pool is filled and Ninya and Charlotte are inquisitive but aprehensive of the big blue thing.
I actually had to herd them towards it and of course the chickens were laughing at their timidity.

They walked around it twice and nibbled the edge before Ninya stuck her head in.

I broke down and set Ninya in the middle and she started calling to Charlotte who became more interested especially when Ninya started diving.. Charlotte tasted the floor brick ....

and then...bolted in....

While not as exhuberant as their first bath in the house tub, they did do a little diving and then got out to preen.

I filled the pool more deeply and they did get back in. I'm sure this will get more intense each time they get in. I need a few toys for them to play with....any suggestions?
I love the pictures, Ninya and Charlotte are cuties for sure!!

Got it at Atwoods and it was only $9. It is a 4 foot diameter and is about 8 inches tall.
They had a bigger one with a slide for 19.99 It was 6 foot diameter and about 10 inches high. ...thought it might be too intimidating.
Neither pool had a drain, so I'll have to bail the water or syphon it with a piece of hose. I've got plenty of little plants that could use the fertilized water.

Hey WarrenHound, I saw that Pomeranian in the photo and wanted to let you know there is a Pomeranian thread now. Please join us. There are so few Poms around and you have a nice one.

Loving these pictures! My 2 are only 3 weeks old (4 on Monday) but are eating like champs. We don't have much grass but they do get offered a ton of greens throughout the day too. They really seem to love dandelion greens the most. :D

This is a pic of a pic off the back of my big camera. We're working on the chicken coop and our goosies just have to be where we are. They are so funny!
