Might I ask why you think they're both females? The other person used the lack of eggs as proof they were males, I believe. I'm sorry, but with completely opposite responses now, I would like to know your reasoning for saying they're females. Is it knob size or shape? Something else?

Can you post a few more pictures, showing body and legs also? I don't judge by knobs personally. Honestly, the neck length, body shape and size, and legs are good clues. Do either have a flap of skin (lobe) between the legs, or is the skin smooth? The one to the right has a very long neck, typical of ganders. The voices, is the tones low, (waa waa or hmmm hmm) or more shrill, (gee, gee?) goose are low toned, ganders are more shrill.

I didn't know who, exactly, to ask, really. I've only just found this thread, even though I've had them for right at 2 years. I had thought nothing of it last year when I had no eggs show up, figuring they were maybe late hatches and something would happen this year.
Then this spring rolls around, and STILL no evidence of eggs. Soooo... that's when I went hunting for answers.

Weather permitting I will get a couple pictures of my Chinese tomorrow. I can better explain showing you my own birds, but your fella looks like my brown gander. your girl definitely looks like my goose hens.

So, do I need to spend several days literally shadowing every move they make, to see where there may or may not be a cache of extra large eggs? I'm used to finding chicken eggs cached in unbelievably strange places, but perhaps I'm thinking like a chicken and not a goose.

Thats the thing, they will ground nest in crazy places, and as already mentioned, are not as broody a breed as some. I have had them go broody before, but not a young goose. My oldest chinese are 4 and I only have the one brown hen that likes to brood.
