The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Pics
My may 2012 hatched geese laid jan 29th the next year. It all started at the same time, nesting, breeding and eggs.
So start watching in another month or so, is my guess.
I should add, seems it was that way with mine about 30 years ago also. I havent kept geese for a long time.
Started up my flock again may 2012.
Did you hatch any from them?

It is so fun to incubate and try to make the goose eggs hatch. I have Sebastopol's and they are hard to get to hatch unless it is done just right. It is not as easy and just putting them in the incubator. You put them in and do not turn for 24 hours then start turning. I have an incubator digital which turns them for me but before bed I do 180 turn on all of them.
Then after 7 days you start pulling them out of the incubator for 5 minutes to rest and then mist lightly with warm water. Thee following week you put them out for 10 minutes then mist and put back in incubator. Each week you ad 5 minutes until it is 20 minutes out once a day at the end.

Then with the sebs some will go to the very end and if not done just right they will die before they hatch.
