Ok here is a picture of the lovely Tatter it's not easy to see but the wrinkles are not normally there

Could she have gotten some frostbite on there?

That's great! Elizabeth layed every other day for a little over 3 weeks, but now she stopped. I hope you can hatch some goslings! Serv, do you think she will start to lay again or is she done for the year?

From what I've heard, when the knobs get frostbit they turn orange, but I don't have any expierence with it so you may be right.

I guess it's possible but the goose house is insulated and attached to our greenhouse. I put a simple heat source in there house and there water pail didn't freeze all winter. then during the day when it's below 0c they spend the day in the greenhouse with me. I'm Keeping a close eye on her when I can she's a little shy and the male is getting aggressive with me if I get to close.

If the gander gets too aggressive, its time to train him. I have an Embden fella I have to watch my back with. If BB (Big Boy) decides he wants to bite or flog me, he gets a lesson. I agree. That goes for ALL my animals, dogs, geese, whatever. My gander Kiwi wouldn't dare come after me because anytime I thought he was being too pushy I would pick him up and walk around with him.

During a hockey tournament last week a male Canada goose came after me! When he reached to bite me I swooped him up right under my arm, when I put him down he flew off with his lady goose.

I did what you said just once with James, and he hasn't bit me or done anything to us, just the ducks. He even stands calmly for 15 minutes or so to get his feet soaked!

With the Easter weekend feed supplies are closed so I headed out and cleared a bit of ice and dug up some grass and dandelions that had greened up before the ice stone. It looked a bit better this morning and the four of the our out foraging. Also seeded some trays of wheat grass not going to get caught short again.
