The African and Chinese goose thread!!

Pink, I'm sorry for your loss. I wondered how the bobcat got in the coop? Was it an open or supposed to be secure? Did this happen at night? Sorry for the questions but I'm a worry wart. I hope you other geese are doing well.

No worries my friend..Thank you for your concern, I appreciate it. The bobcat broke through the welded wire completely enclosed coop run. Huge hole right through the fencing just exactly like the hole it made in the parimeter fence of the pasture. It was at night just after over head security light that lights up the paddock area (which includes lighting up the goose coop) went out. I read that they will case a place and plan their attack. I read they will wait for lights to go out.

The remaining geezers are doing great!

My VERY co-dependent and very nosey boy, Casey Aflac. Everything IS Casey's business...everything I tell you! He's quite sure of it.

Ben Aflac ..... now I know that ya'll told me once that they will not get a dewlap as they get older but Ben did not have this lap (small as it is) when I got him in June. It has gotten larger.....what gives with that?

pink they are lovely. Is Ben a super african?

Thank you everyone! I should have had geese 5 years ago. I love them all to pieces.

Celtic and Zoo~ I adopted them from a woman whose boyfriend up and left her and lett her with his 2 males and 5 females, with 2 of the oldest gals on nests. The day I picked them up Daisy was hatching out goslings, 1 even hatched on the way home. 7 hatched total. It was very interesting bringing them home. Anyway, all the gal could tell me was Ben and Daisy were 1.5 years old and they came from a hatchery and were sold to them as Africans.
Help me with some hatchery names and I can tell you which one it was...just can't remember on my own. :p
