The Age-Old Question: pullets or roos?

Don't feel silly for asking! We're all learning something.

It took me a while to figure out what pullets were too, only I was afraid to ask

As my teachers always said: "The only dumb question is one you don't ask."

I actually think it can be hard to tell with Australorps. I had 3, only one of which turned out to be a rooster. But at 8-10 weeks 2 of them had huge combs and wattles. One turned out to be male, the other female. That surprise hen grew a pretty big comb and wattles, even had pointy neck feathers. She got the biggest, roundest fluffy hen britches though!

Thats interesting wood & Feathers.

How do you talk to chickens with a flute?
