The Aloha Chicken Project

Gorgeous!  Do you still have this one?  Wondering how it will look fully grown.

Yes, still have her. I also have a cockerel ( I think) that looks almost the same coloring. Phone won't take pictures right now.

I plan on keeping her to breed more hopefully. Just trying to figure out what to put her with. May be changing our roosters by the time she's ready for breeding. Most everything red or Calico have big bibs so will most likely throw fully feathered babies. I'll have to see what I have when the time comes.

Are there any Aloha enthusiasts in the southern CA area (Los Angeles)? I have chicks direct from Sommer. It looks like I'll have lots of cockerels. I'm going to hold out for another couple of weeks just to be sure. If you're near by and working on the Aloha project, this is a great opportunity to get some fresh blood in your mix. You can have as many cockerels as you like. [I'm introducing sex linked genes, so I'll only be using the females for my project.]

Hey Sommer! I know you're always on the lookout for very spotty Speckled Sussex so I thought I'd show off the 3 pullets I got from Meyer this year + 2 Swedish Flower Hens that were sent as a bonus.

I started out with 8 gave 3 to some friends, didn't have good coloring then lost 3 to some kind of illness or heat stroke of some sort so now I only have these two boys left. Out of the eight I had I pullet and she was one that had died. So now I have two aloha cockrels and 1blrw pullet and cockrell.

The red one is a little on the flighty side and is really dominate started to crow at 3 months old. The other one has yellow legs and TONS of color and fallows me around everywhere. He's so under foot I have to practaly ski around so no to step on him

I received 50+ Aloha chicks a couple of weeks ago from Sommer. They're doing great and they're all so colorful!

I moved some of them out of the brooder and into the grow out pen yesterday. They have 5 older chicks with them to show them the ropes.

And some individual NN Aloha pictures:

This one here looks to be Dun.

At some point I'll get pictures of every single chick. That's going to be a big chore!

Great pictures! And a good reminder that I need to get out there and get more photos myself! I have 70 chicks in my horse trailer that are about 6 weeks old, and I'm missing a lot of photos of the parents too. Time for a photo day!

I moved another 15 Alohas out into the grow out pen this morning. The rest will go out on Sunday.

I'm thinking this one is possibly another dun:
