The American Cemani Breeders Club...open forum

i often have all but a couple shipped eggs start and do very well...until sometime in week 2...not sure which day but between day 8-14 about 30% seem to quit on me.

Svart Hona aka Black Swedish Flower Hens are a good breed if you like the melangistic. If you wan a pretty pop of color Swedish Flower Hens are nice, and i am very fond of Orust...something about the speckled leggs. Anyhow those are a few rare breeds...im sure others will have many more to add.

Thanks! I have actually been looking into Svart Honas already. I had (apparently mistakenly, as I don't yet know much about the whole process) tossed around the idea of using them to hybrid Cemanis in order to help with size, sturdiness, and inbreeding issues. I was quickly corrected in that! Which I don't mind, btw. I'm open to many ideas and suggestions, but most specifically, expertise. The Swedish Flower Hens look beautiful! They're similar in color pops to the Aloha I was looking into a while back. Thanks again for your input! My hubby and I have some things to talk about this weekend...

Wouldn't these be consider f1s and not f2s? Since these weren't produce from your grown birds bought from Mike as chicks and bred back to the parents that he still owns? Because you're trying to start a new line, so they are f1s. Am I wrong?
