The American Cemani Breeders Club...open forum

Honestly, in my experience with AC, our cockerel got aggressive towards others early on and we separated our whole trio until they re-learned how to be decent to the others *shrugs* I guess each chick is different.

Our last hatch 3 cemani and there only one to two weeks and there is only one left. Neither two other fibro have died in brooder. Hopefully the one left can make it. Were hatching tomorrow so I'll post some pics. Hopefully they do better I have like about 15 different kinds of birds and the only other type of bird that had troubles n got pick on and were weak was the peach golden pheasant but they are inbred quite heavily

My AC cockerels wanted to fight each other and my Wyandotte cockerels so I just culled really hard to stop all the foolishness!

So sorry for that, Birdman... hope your hatch goes well...

I've not had issues like that though... granted, I do admit I am still a newbie to the breed, but we have around a doz different breeds as well and in comparison they are just as if not hardier than all my others...
Only lost 2 AC chicks total and both of those were hatched from shipped eggs, I have noticed in all breeds that shipped tend to have more thriving issues than non-shipped though... so far, every chick we've hatched from our own have done well... yes, the darker ones tend to be on the smaller side, but they are thriving alongside the rest...
