There was a little different recipe that the Barred Hollands and the White Hollands were made from wasn't there?
Can crossing the Whites with the Barred's make anything correct? or should the two be developed separately?
Thanks, I had read they used different breeds to make the different varieties. I think that's a better to keep them the same breed and develop the white variety, just didn't know that was okay. I might dabble with a white roo later then and sell all the chicks to the breeders working on white. I want to helpType makes the breed! Not color. So using as many foundational breeds as possible, one could create a white with using the barred Holland and white versions of the foundational breeds of the barred Hollands.
Super! I can't wait to see them. Of my 10 (2 cockerels and 8 pullets) the smallest (much smaller than the others) just didn't make it. I was expecting them to all be closer to the same age so I didn't have a better place and she seemed to be doing fine but she must have been just too young and was over run by the others, who are thriving. I hated to lose even one babyforgot to mention, last Sunday we saw a very nice flock of Barred Hollands! Sorry, took no photos. But they sure looked nice. Will allow JenScott to post the photos of her flock.

Hey, school is soon to start on the Barred Hollands. They are on the Dominique now. I sent the moderator in charge a PM and asked for a session on the Hollands. He said they would cover them soon. Check it out at https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...e-university-large-fowl-sop/340#post_10477303
