I apologize for these pics of non-Paint colored chicks......but if we are getting them from Paint breeding I guess we need to try and understand them as well as we can.
Here are pics I took today of the "Champagne?" colored chick, or Orange Frost or whatever....

and same chick

These STILL aren't the color the bird really is but as close any pic I have so far.
And here is the "Red" Paint I have, I looked really close today in the sun and the red feathers DO go all the way to the skin, these are complete red feathers stuck in the White background, hope you can see it.

I won't post anymore pics of these birds till they mature and only then if they should should change very much.
Thanks for everyones patience, I am just so darn curious.

I think it is important to document what you are getting. One question I would ask about the red feathers is whether they are scattered randomly or are located in male colour areas? (Looks like the former, but not entirely sure.) Do keep taking photos so you can watch development and changes as the bird goes through the molts to adult plumage. And yes, come back and show us what you are finding.

Thank you Jen and Suze...Mikey has far to much feathering on his feet and tho he has the softest feathering and the tightest wings...they are practically non exsistent...his tail is a bit too long tho absolutely no hard feathering in it...he is fixed so we will not have to worry about us breeding such strange silkies here at the ranch...lol....happy holidays everybody

Sonoran can I please ask you about the thumb print silkie you have on your post. I just love looking at it as it is so beautiful! Is it real? If so, what color is it? Have you shown it? I always look forward to reading your posts as I have learned so much and get to see that picture each time. Thanks.
