Go here: http://www.americansilkiebantamclub.org/ to join. We have members in other countries, including Canada.

Being a member of ASBC will help you a ton since it is focused on breeding Silkies and their health. There is a forum there for members with questions about their birds or updates on flocks.

I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in but are you sure that's white? Looks more buff. And I don't really see a spot. Could just be my eyes though.

yes she is white its the lighting and my camera. Its hard to see but there is a spot an its almost greyish and when i gave her a bath it was still there so its not dirt

Do you know if she is out of a paint breeding? From what I understand one spot is still a paint. I picked up a boy today that only has one black spot on him, he could still get more though as he grows.

its not a paint. to be a paint it would need more spots or larger spots then that. white cochins will get random black feathers too but that doesnt make them a paint

If the bird is white, and appears grey when wet, you probably have a silver gened white. They have a silver grey coloring, especially seen in males, about the tail feathers etc. If you have a silver gened white that is expressing the color all over, it is then called a Pearl, because that is what color the bird appears to be, just like the one's from a seen on a necklace.

For the bird to be a paint, it would have to have a distinct feather colored (usually black) on a white bird, AND the parents would have to be from a paint breeding. You would be hard pressed to find a "paint" from a solid white breeding line of birds. VERY RARE like winning the lottery.

I will try and get a close up of his spot so you can see the feathering.

bird is most likely expressing leakage. Could also say too expressing a possible semi dominance. depends on what the bird looks like in real life
Paints..... each colored feather must be ''completely'' colored from feather end to quill entering the skin of a SOLID color.
