No, its going to be a few years yet before they will be recognized by the APA or ABA.

I don't know how hard they are to find. Thanks to the generosity of friend of mine I now have coop over run with young birds I hatched from the males she gifted me.

I would be the first to admit I know little about Paint breeding. I bred some Paints for a friend because she wanted to breed her with one of my black males, so I borrowed her for a few months and hatched some chicks for her using 3 different males, but none of the males used were Paint, as we did not have any males to use. I experimented with three different color males. I kept four of them to play with and I have the same thing going on here with the big spots and black feathers in the wings and feet. The spots are getting larger as they mature and I am curious to see what will happen when they have first molt, they are still very young. I read somewhere that they keep the spots that they hatch with and that is not true either as I have found they have many more spots now then when they hatched. These are some of the results of that breeding that I kept. Your photos caught my eye as I am not seeing too many with spots this large.

WOW, Loving these! Interesting read too.

Paints definitely acquire more spots as they age. I have youngsters born with no spots and have spots within a week or two. I have a little showgirl that was just okay when she little, now that she is 5 weeks, I am loving her.

I have a handful with the bold markings like the one below that I am anxious to see when mature.

I never had any chicks hatch with no spots and then get them later. They all hatched either Paint or Black and that was with all three males. If I would have continued and hatched more chicks perhaps that could have happened.
