Silver Silkie mentioned some where that smokey colored birds are appearing out of paint.

I think this is what they meant, there are no dark spots on this birds any where. I thought it was light blue but it is not. When I compared it to the darker shading on one of my white boys I've been fooling with for years the shading is definitely the same.

For the back story, the male is strictly from my bloodline going back seven years. There is no chance that any other color was added. I don't think the topic of paints was even on the radar when this began so no chance he is Dom white. He also produces white chicks with no off coloring. Or black chicks when I put a black hen with him.

Hello Paint Breeders I have a couple questions about what you all are working tward I know the silkie perfections will apply but on the veriety part what are you working for the large spot the small spots or a percentage of spots ?

We probably all have them with the big blotches. Its a question of control so that we don't have too much or too little. No one has quite figured that one out yet.

Three Cedar Silkies,

was the original blue rooster ever mated to black hens?

Does he show irregularities in his eye colour and feet pigment?
