Yes this chick is sure NOT Black, but not sure if it is Blue or maybe Lavender... that can't be can it???
It sure has a Lavender gene mother, her being sired by Cuss.
Of course the other dark hen in the pen is also a Cuss daughter but she is my good Blue hen.

I have two of these "blue paints" VERY distinctively different than the Blacks.
Also hatched some super pretty, clear light Blue Silkies [with no paint markings]

This is soooo much fun! Never know what I'm going to get, even got two paint chicks the other day from the hen house where there is NO paints at all. [ They hatched from eggs from a hen who had previously lived with my Paint roo.]
What a surprise! I couldn't believe it!

Thanks! I love them but take NO credit for raising them. I'm VERY new to silkies. All of my paints came from Bren!

Thank you! That little girl is from Catdance and I think she is just the prettiest Silkie we've ever owned, love her!! Cant wait for her to start laying:)
