99% sure Has a big comb and wattles, none of the others from the same hatch have that. Also acts very roo like..keeping the flock together, chasing off the other chickens, etc and he loves to dance

Some times how they look differant from the others in the same hatch helps in telling the sexes apart.

Just got my first paints. Three white with black spots and one black paint. I want to learn all I can about this color.

I have 4 paint chicks. I have been reading this thread, still have 105 pages to go. I have a question about what color you are to breed your paint with; black or white or should you just use a pure black? I have been reading more people have been breeding with black. So I am curious can you use white?

Breed to a black or to a white from a paint breeding. Some people breed to regular, recessive white birds with good results. I am afraid that may come back to bite them in a generation or two.

Most folks that have bred paint to paint are unimpressed with the results.
