An old leaf swirled into Álfr's den. Rusty watched it with eyes now wide open to the world around him. It settled against the far earthy wall nearest to the exit. Slowly, and as quietly as he could with his clumsy pup legs, Rusticolos made his way towards the leaf. He glanced back to make sure his siblings who appeared to be sleeping hadn't moved. His siblings were boring when they slept, but at the moment he preferred that over their usuall stubbornness. Also, Rusty wanted to be the first to investigate this new object.

Gerald opened an eye quietly. Curious of the world around him and what it was up to. He spotted Rusty going near something. Slowly and quietly he got up. He carefully walked close to the ground with hopes of pouncing on Rusty.

Quietly, but picking up a little bit of speed, Gerald got closer to Rusty. He was hoping to pounce on him when he least expected it.

The leaf smelled like dirt, one of the only smells he knew, but also of something else. He closed his eyes to take another sniff.

Gerald figured his opportunity had finally come. He leaped the best he could towards Rusty. He was hoping to land on him.

The wind from Gerald's leap lifted the leaf a couple inches away. Rusty, surprised by its movement hopped backwards straight into Garald.

Gerald yepped. He landed on Rusty, but he wasn't expecting him to back into him. "Got you!" he told Rusty trying to hide his surprise of Rusty's movements.
