Jezza trotted off to find more food, she put her nose to the ground as she tried to figure out why Dexter had been funny with her. Maybe he had a crush on her, she laughed at the thought no. He wouldn’t have a crush on her after only knowing her for one day. Maybe she’d offended him, she thought back to what she could have said but nothing.
Then she caught the scent of a rabbit and trotted in search of the rabbit, eyes searching and nose tracking the scent
Alexander went to a rock in the creek and crouched down. "Dexter, there is plenty of fish in here, but they're hard to catch." He said watching the fish. "If you can trap one, that would be your best bet." Alexander moved some rocks over. "We're going to trap them in here. You're going to have to put your face in the water to catch one with your teeth."

Alexander showed Dexter what to do and where to stand. "Now, stay here. I'll lead the fish into the trap and you catch one." Alexander told his son and went down the creek a little. Dexter did everything his father had told him, and waited. Alexander lead the fish into the trap he had set. Once they went in, Dexter quickly threw his head under water and bit down- hard! And a little too hard at that. He yelped loudly in pain and jumped back. He quickly got out of the creek and hid under a bush whimpering.

Alexander stood there surprised at Dexter's strange reaction before going over to him. "Dexter? What happened?" He asked. Dexter looked up painfully at his father. His teeth was bleeding. That's what Alexander realized what had happened. "Dexter, you but a rock, not a fish," he said sadly. He licked Dexter to comfort him.

Jezza crouched as she approached the rabbit, it had caught her scent and suddenly sprang away from her. So the chase was on as she sprinted after it, not quite as agile as the little critter

"Come over here, Dexter. Let's rinse your mouth, ok?" Alexander said going to the creek. Dexter was hesitant. He didn't want anything more to do with anything of the water. Alexander could see that. "If you don't overcome your fears, they'll control you forever," Alexander said. "Now come on over. Afterwards, I'm going to show you something."

Dexter still didn't want to come over, but he slowly did. Whimpering, he looked up at his father with tears in his eyes. "Slowly and gently put your mouth in the water and let it flow through." Alexander said quietly. He nudged Dexter a little and showed him what to do. Dexter copied Alexander. "Now stay there for a little while until the bleeding stops." Alexander said raising his head.

Jezza chased the rabbit through the glen before finally she had it cornered, she pounced and at the last second it moved leaving her to slam straight into the tree. She was knocked unconscious.

Once Dexter's mouth stopped bleeding, Alexander let him take it out of the creek. "Feels better now, doesn't it?" He asked and Dexter nodded his head. "Come, if you're up to it, I'd like to show you something." Alexander said and started leading the way. He stopped to see Dexter following. "Is it far?" Dexter asked. "Not too far." Alexander replied before contuieing.

Alexander and Dexter had walked a ways. Dexter was wondering where they were going when he thought he caught a whiff of a familiar scent. "Jezza?" He said. "Dad, I think I smell Jezza. She must be nearby."

Alexander looked around. "She's probably hunting," he replied, "but she's getting awfully far from the camp. We ought to go find her to make sure she's not lost." Alexander began sniffing the air to figure out what direction she was in. Soon, he could tell. "This way, Dexter." He said and trotted in her direction.

As Jezza's scent grew stronger, Alexander picked up his pace. Dexter was the first to spot her. "I think she's over here!" He said trying to make out if it was her or not. He ran over to her and instantly could tell something was wrong. "Ah, Jezza?" He said beginning to nudge her.

"Stop, Dexter!" Alexander quickly said and was immediately by Dexter's side. He sniffed her then said, "She's unconscious. She could have a head injury, so she shouldn't be moved." He quickly scanned the area for any possible danger. "Stay here and guard her," he said suddenly to Dexter. "Don't move her, and if she wakes, tell her not to move and ask Jezza what her name is. I'll be back as quickly as possible." Dexter slowly nodded and Alexander took off in some random direction.

Jezza was still unconscious
