Alexander started swimming. He lapped up a little of the water at first, but continued swimming. "This is nice." He said.

A random thought came to Ginger's mind. "Hey Alexander. Can I call you-" She turned around and saw that he was gone. "Alexander! Where'd you go?" She screamed and swam over to where he just was.

Alexander resurfaced. All the fur on his head was patted down from the water. He shook head to get some of the water off. "Did you say something?" He asked blinking the water out of his eyes.

Ginger jumped back. "Don't scare me like that! I thought you drowned!" She said, sounding like she was about to cry. She turned around and swam a little ways away from him grumpily.

"Drown?" Alexander asked a little surprised. "I'm probably the best-" he noticed Ginger was swimming away. "Nevermind?" He said a little quieter.

Owen tilted his head the opposite way. "Mommy?"

"No, but I guess I should stay around until she gets back," she smiled and wagged her tail.

Ginger swam a little farther away and kept her eyes away from him. She didn't know why she got so mad about Alexander disappearing. She didn't know yet but she might have been developing slight feelings for him in the little time that she had known him.
