Timmy tilted his head and sniffed the air. Not only was his hearing good, but his sense of smell was equal to that, and he used it for his advantage. "It's very close." He whispered slowly, but with excitement. Nothing sounded or smelt familiar to him, but it still excited him.
Hazel felt very hesitant. She had never hunted for anything before in her whole life. This was all a new experience for her. She didn’t understand how Timmy was so brave.
"Watch me, pup." Timmy smiled not knowing what about to happen. He threw his head back and howled loudly to let the creature know of his presence not realizing that was a HUGE mistake.....
Hazel watched as he howled his booming howl.
Without any warning, a large swarm of black flying creatures flew out of the darkness screaming at the two wolves. It was so unexpected that it even startled Timmy. He felt himself immediately go cold in fear and freeze where he was as the bats flew by.
Hazel screamed and dropped to the ground. She put her paws over her face and trembled.
Timmy was frozen with fear. All his fur was on edge. As all the bats were flying out of the cave, a loud flash of lightning lite up the cave.
Hazel screamed and jumped again. Her body shook stronger. She couldn’t keep herself from crying.
Timmy started doing a strange nervous laugh and slowly turned around as he started calming down from everything that just happened. "I wasn't expecting that..." He said so quietly it could barely be heard. Then he fainted and dropped to the ground. All the excitement was too much for Timmy in his frail condition.
Hazel heard a loud thump. She removed her paws from her face. “Timmy!” She yelled. She was still shaking uncontrollably. She ran to his side. “Oh, come on, Timmy.” Her teeth were still chattering. She licked his face multiple times. Her breathing was very hard.
