Chicxulub bolted into the forest, picking up speed as she went. She loved the way she felt like she was flying, cold air whipping past the face and stinging her lungs as she wove in between trees, her pulse racing with adrenaline. She ran further and further away from the river, ignoring the scent of other wolves and focusing on the rhythm of her paws. Still, she could not outrun her memories.

Chicxulub tries to run faster, but then hesitates. She was sure she could smell another wolf around here somewhere, and close by. She wonders if maybe she should slow down, but her instinct tells her to keep running.
