King went to his den, and fell fast asleep. He woke up very early the next morning, before anyone else. “I’ll go hunting now” He thought to himself.

Chicxulub stood awkwardly in the middle of the den for a second, and eventually laid down facing oppposite of him, her bad leg sticking out slightly at an odd angle. She wasn’t sure what to ask him, but she realized he probably didn’t have a pack if he was sleeping out here all by himself. He was a loner, just like her, although she couldn’t imagine why.
She admitted it was warmer inside the den.

As he came to his favorite spot, he saw a rabbit. Not very large, but perfect for one wolf. He easily caught it, and brought it over to Hilina’s den. “Least she won’t have to worry about breakfast now” .

“Thanks, but it’s fine” she said, feeling relaxed for the first time in weeks “I have a bad hip, I injured it when I was real little, so that’s why I sit weird”. She wondered why he was so kind to her. Everyone else thought she was insane.
Chicxulub sighed slightly, resting her head on her paws.

Chicxulub snapped upright, startled. She didn‘t remember falling asleep, and she didn’t have any nightmares either, which was unusual. She turned to see Fang carrying food and couldn’t resist licking her mouth, even though she didn’t know if any of it was for her.
