Far off in the distance, the sound of a lonely, sorrowful howl could be heard. It was Ted. He was out hunting in the night, but wasn't having very good luck at finding anything. He was hungry, but for a Loner, getting food was hard. He sat there looking up at the night sky thinking of his past, and of a mate he had at one time, but lost. He again let out a lonely, sorrowful howl. Each time he howled, he poured out both his loneliness and his sadness into it. Any human would of called his howl the most beautiful, but they would never know the reason.

King was about to fall asleep, when he heard the howl. He walked around, trying to see who was howling. “Ted!” He called out. “What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?”

Ted was still off in the distance. He stopped howling and walked towards the Bobcat River, even though it was frozen. He scratched at it trying to dig through the ice.

King followed the faint scent. He finally caught up with him. “What are you doing?” He asked, looking at him. “It’s pitch black outside”

Ted looked up sniffing the air for King. "Trying to find food." He replied. "And what's your point? You're out here too." He chuckled.

"Yes." Ted replied. "Why not? Run for awhile. That should tire you out. Plus, you're too slow. Run to get faster." He started scratching the ice again.

“Slow?” He asked. “I’m not that slow!” He paused for a few seconds, then said “And you probably won’t catch anything at this hour”

"Slow? Anthony would of got you because you're so slow." Ted answered. "I have before." Ted told King sniffing around.
