All my Broodies have separate maternity houses and then when they hatch out they have the little (3x4) maternity house and the attached 4x10 foot pen.
Some of the Banty hens can get territorial and I have seen them attack other chicks but they make excellent mothers.
The Hen and chick pen is 12x 10 (total) and it has three runs (4x10 each) and little maternity houses. I can also use it for breeding pairs as all the runs can be opened up to make one big run or leave it at three separate runs. Each pen has a door that opens to the outside so the birds can free range if I wish them too.
